The river is freezing, I haven't seen that happen in a few years (no I didn't take this picture, but it was taken just a day or two ago).

YouTube and politicians make for a strange mix

Local elections are coming up, and in reading one of my favorite blogs I came across this hysterical quote that sums up Chicago politics: When Tip O'Neill said "all politics is local," he should have said, "Unless you're talking about Chicago, in which all politics is beyond local into some sort hyper-micro-politics that justifies producing an overly dramatic video about a liquor store."

Apparently aldermanic candidates have discovered YouTube, and trust me, this is a very amusing thing.

However, the last video isn't amusing at all, it is chilling, and a very depressing indictment of 'politics as usual'.
